“Don’t do it, you will only bring the industry down”
I’ll never forget those words spoken to me over 10 years ago. Before I ever had a business, the podcast, the course, I had my wife and an art degree. Back then, I was still only considering the possibility of becoming a photographer and so I reached out to another professional in my field to get his advice on starting a studio.
Filled with a scarcity mindset, he tried to persuade me that I didn't have what it takes. He said, “Don’t do it - You will only bring the industry down.”
The whole thing kinda backfired if you ask me, because since then, I vowed to always live in abundance and to elevate those around me.
My family is my delight. What started with our little girl Bea, expanded exponentially with the arrival of our twin boys, Alex Gold & Colton Fox! Our home is now full of laughter, reckless silliness, and squeals of joy. My wife Les and I are continually learning to love each other. I think we are learning well. Marriage is hard - Divorce is hard. We are choosing our hard to be with one another in grace and curiosity and commitment. I laugh at myself more often than not. It helps boost my confidence.
Believe the best in people. It makes a difference.
My superpower is helping creatives realize that how they run their business is a result of the story they believe about themselves - Getting ahold of that old story, and re-writing a new one that includes a future worth having.
Over my career, I have built successful businesses off of Wedding Photography, Longboarding, 3-D Animation, Photobooth Events, Transformational Coaching, Oil Painting, Video Production, Event Speaking, Pokemon Card Trading, Selling “Modeling Clay” that I dug up in my backyard … ok so that one was a little less successful than the rest. After everything that I have done, this is what I have learned, YOU … yes you, can make an incredible living doing what you love.
Social media breaks, admitting when I’m wrong, and cutting out the 'meh' to make room for the very best.
Bullshit. I feel like that should cover it.

Filling out my gratitude journal, hand brewing the perfect cup of coffee, wrestling my adorable children, trying to “get some” from Les (TMI?) and then ending the day with an old fashioned (Woodford Reserve) night cap.
